Typeface Design in the modern age is very much like fashion–more and more typefaces are developed every day for problem-solving or aesthetic reasons, or both. With such an abundance of material already out there, how can a driven, passionate type designer get their work noticed and lay the foundations for a thriving business whilst staying truly independent? Shrenik Ganatra is a designer and educator originally from Mumbai, India, currently based in Brooklyn, United States. He teaches at The Shillington School of Graphic Design in New York and has previously worked at Karlssonwilker and Pure+Applied. Ganatra’s work has received international recognition from platforms such as Adobe, AIGA, Behance, HOW Design, GD USA, Creative Boom, Design Indaba, and others. Furthermore, he has presented his work at universities and international conferences hosted by Adobe, ATypI, and other organizations.
