Speaker Rachapoom Punsongserm

Rachapoom Punsongserm is an assistant professor at Thammasat University’s Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts in Thailand. He holds a Ph.D. in Design from Kyushu University’s Graduate School of Design in Japan. His primary research interests include typeface design and positive typography. Since 2017, he has been involved in driving essential research projects with his colleagues in various fields, aimed at examining and developing the first standard Thai Universal Design font active on different characteristics of low visual acuity conditions. He has also researched to enhance the development of typographic standards or guidelines for Thai drug labels and mobile applications. Recently, the FT Manifest UD (Thai Universal Design Font) that he worked on earned a Bronze Award in the Communication Design category from the IAUD International Design Award 2023.
