Speaker Jesús Barrientos Mora

Jesús Barrientos Mora is Associate Professor at BUAP (Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla) and since 2014 research fellow to the Scaliger Instituut, at the Leiden University Library.

Author of the book Legado de los Elzevir (2017) and certified in Typeface Design (University of Reading, 2018), he has lectured in the Dublin Institute of Technology (2015), Warsaw Academy of Arts (ATypI 2016), the University of Birmingham (2018), the Sheffield Hallam University (2019) Sorbonne Université (ATypI 2023) and the Cyprus University of Technology (2024).

His typefaces Ecstasy, Blacken, Leidener and Vecchia have been purchased by Reebok, Macmillan, Harper Collins, FUNimation, Luxxi, & Walsh, Marvel Studios, among others, currently distributed through the Monotype channels and awarded by the Bienal Tipos Latinos (2008, 2012, 2022), Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño (2016-2022), and Premios Clap (2015-2024) and the National Design Award Diseña México 2024, taking part in exhibitions across the Americas and Europe.
