
Speaker Alice Savoie
Alice Savoie is a type designer, researcher, and teacher based in Lyon, France. A graduate from École Duperré and École Estienne in Paris, she holds an MA and a PhD from the University of Reading (UK). Over the last 15 years, Alice has collaborated with international clients and foundries on the design of many custom typefaces. Her own typefaces include Capucine, Faune, Romain 20 and Lucette. From 2018–2021, Alice was the principal researcher on the Leverhulme-funded ‘Women in Type’ project under the direction of Prof. Fiona Ross. Alice currently teaches and supervises research projects at ANRT (Nancy, FR), Écal (Lausanne, CH), and EPHE (Paris Sorbonne). She co-edits the Pamphlet collection at Poem editions with Jérôme Knebusch.
