Prof. Dr. Ann Bessemans is a legibility expert and award-winning typographic and type designer. She founded the READSEARCH legibility research group at the PXL-MAD School of Arts and Hasselt University, where she teaches typography and type design. Ann is the program director of the international Master program “Reading Type & Typography.” She received her PhD from Leiden University and Hasselt University under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Gerard Unger. Ann is a member of the Data Science Institute UHasselt and the Young Academy of Belgium and is a lecturer at the Plantin Institute of Typography.

I’m Laura Meseguer, a freelance graphic and type designer based in Barcelona. My studio works for international and domestic clients but also in self-initiated projects. As a typographer and type designer, I’m specialized in all sorts of projects involving custom lettering and type design, for branding and publishing design. My design approach is to create unique solutions for every assignment, based on the concept, the content, and the context, always in close collaboration with art directors and designers. Lynne Yun (she/her) is a typeface designer and technologist fluidly connecting the seams between calligraphy, type design, and generative typography. She is an alumna of the Type@Cooper Extended program, School for Poetic Computation, and ITP at New York University. She has previously taught for institutions such as Type@Cooper, Parsons School of Design, and The Letterform Archive. She currently runs Space Type, an NYC studio operating at the intersection of type and technology, and Type Electives, a new online design school shaping a more diverse, inclusive, and accessible future for type design.

Dr. Nadine Chahine is an award-winning Lebanese type designer. She is the CEO at I Love Typography Ltd and the principal at ArabicType Ltd. She has an MA in Typeface Design from the University of Reading, UK, a PhD from Leiden University, The Netherlands, and a Master of Studies in International Relations from Cambridge University. She has numerous awards including two Awards for Excellence in Type Design from the Type Directors Club in New York in 2008 and 2011. Her typefaces include: Frutiger Arabic, Neue Helvetica Arabic, Univers Next Arabic, Palatino Arabic, Avenir Arabic, Amareddine, Makdessi, and Koufiya.

Nadine's work has been featured in the 5th edition of Megg's History of Graphic Design and in 2012 she was selected by Fast Company as one of its 100 Most Creative People in Business. In 2016 her work was showcased in the 4th edition of First Choice which highlights the work of the 250 top global designers. In 2017, Nadine was selected by Creative Review to their Creative Leaders 50. In 2021, Nadine served on the board of TDC.

Veronika Burian (1973) born in Czech Republic, is a product and type designer running the international indie foundry TypeTogether with partner José Scaglione since 2006, today with twelve employees working around the world. She graduated from FH München, Germany, in Industrial Design and holds a MA in Typeface Design from the University of Reading, UK. Veronika is one of the organisers of the Alphabettes mentorship program, co-chairwoman of the GRANSHAN project, co-curator/organiser of TypeTech MeetUp, and guest lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture and Design NTNU in Norway.
