Back scan: 20th Century: type stories

Five years after the ATypl conference in The Hague and four years after graduation at the Royal Academy of Art. A small presen­tation about study and practice, a veejay application GUI, The Enschede Font Foundry and Type Invaders.

Paul van der Laan

Paul van der Laan studied Graphic and Typo­graphic Design at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague and graduated in 1997. He worked for two years in a design agency where his main activities were graphic and web design for corporate clients. In 1999 he began a one year study at the postgraduate course ‘Type Design and Typography’ in The Hague and graduated again in 2000.
At present he runs his own little business in The Hague as a freelance designer specialized in type design and typography. He does guest lectures at the Royal Academy of Art and also has a part-time occupation at The Enschede Font Foundry.
