ATypI Staff
Tamye Riggs has served as ATypI’s Executive Director since 2015. She quietly works magic behind the scenes in overseeing ATypI’s conferences while developing other initiatives and partnerships. Tamye is a long-time member of the type community and has managed editorial, marketing, partnerships, and other segments for type foundries and distributors around the world. She writes extensively about type and typography, design, tech, and culture, specializing in features and essays focused on the people who make and use type. Tamye has authored and edited a number of books and publications about the field. With her partner, her son, and their three fabulous cats, Tamye makes her home on Grand Island, between Buffalo and Toronto, on the beautiful Niagara River.
Marta Myszewska, ATypI’s Senior Events Coordinator and the Executive Director’s right hand, began her tenure with ATypI as a student volunteer for the association’s 2016 Warsaw conference before taking on a coordinator role with the operations team in 2020. Marta is a designer and social media content creator and is on staff in the New Media path at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw. PJAIT is one of ATypI’s highly respected partner schools and is responsible for contributing many volunteers, exhibitions, program sessions, and other activities to ATypI. Marta and her partner live and work in the heart of Warsaw, where they cohabit with two stunning fluffy kitties who star in their own Instagram channels.
Natalia Łajszczak is ATypI’s Events Coordinator, graphic designer, and a local activist based in Warsaw, Poland. Natalia is affiliated with PJAIT, where she runs a zin lab and screen printing studio. She is also a member of the artist-run space and collective Pracownia Wschodnia in Warsaw (@pracowniawschodnia), through which she engages in organising events promoting print and publishing culture.
ATypI Volunteers
Please contact us if you are interested in signing up to volunteer for the conference.
The volunteer team at ATypI is the backbone of the onsite preparations for the Copenhagen conference. These dedicated students and professionals assist with setting up the venue, guiding attendees, and ensuring everything runs smoothly on the ground. Their enthusiasm and hard work helps create a welcoming, enjoyable experience for all participants.
Everyone at ATypI, from board officers to first-time attendees, respects our volunteers, who travel from all over the world to support this international event. It’s a rewarding experience for those who enjoy contributing their time and energy to celebrate and support the typographic community at ATypI events. No matter what your stage in life, volunteerism is rewarding, energizing, and fun. Join us!
