Speaker Irma Puškarević
Irma Puškarević is a researcher, educator, and creative practitioner whose work explores the entanglements of pedagogy, typography, language, and cultural heritage. With a PhD in Graphic Engineering and Design, her research focuses on developing methodologies for experimentation and research projects in type and typography. Her ongoing research is focusing on multilingual and multiscript cultural landscape of Southeast Europe, investigating fluid practices of documenting and analysing typographic heritage from a historically complex region. As a passionate advocate for innovative inquire-based pedagogies, in her educational practices she develops frameworks that encourage curiosity and experimentation, fostering equitable classroom. She extends her pedagogical practice to mentoring programs, including holding workshops on experimental methodology for creative projects and her work as a member of Alphabettes Mentorship Program. Currently, she is Assistant Professor and Area Head of Graphic Design at Wichita State University, KS.
