Speaker Henrik Birkvig
Born in Skelskør in 1955 a small fishermans town in the south western part of Seeland—yes: with a fjord.
I am the youngest of three children from a father trained as bookshop employee and a mother with no formal training.
In 1975 I left home to go to Copenhagen to become an artist applying for the Royal Danish Academy of Art. As they did not want to develope my genius I started at The University of Copenhagen studying film science ( being a moving pictures freak at the time I but eventuallyfelt boared by the-too theoretical-study of Anita Ekberg in Fontana Trevi.
Through the late 70ies and B0ies I began working with ‘underground communication’, subversive activity: magazines about sexual politics, socialist newspapers and left wing art in general.
I live with my wife Jytte and her daughter from a former marriage, Julie (allmost 18 years old I and son Peter Emil (5,5 years old) who when born automatically took over the position of letterforms as the meaning of life.
(Need I to say that he was at the age of 6 months appointed vice chairman of the legendary Copenhagen Cooper Black Klub?).
Latest addition to the familily and the house just outside Copenhagen City is Freya—a mini schnautzer born around XMas 2000.
