Speaker Ana María Serna Botero
Ana Serna is a Publicist from Universidad Católica de Manizales, Colombia, and currently a Master’s candidate in Typography at Universidad de Buenos Aires, awaiting her thesis defense. She is a professor in the Advertising program at UCM, where she teaches branding and typography, and also leads a linguistic revitalization project for the Embera Katío language in Colombia.
Ana has worked as an art director and graphic designer in advertising agencies, gaining experience in branding, editorial design, typography, calligraphy, and lettering. She also runs a permanent space dedicated to calligraphy and letter design, combining teaching, artistic practices, and mentorship for entrepreneurs. Her work has been recognized with the Premio Lápiz de Acero 2025 for Marãɗe®, a typeface created for the Embera Katio language.
