A brand’s dream is to design products and services that fulfills 100% of a single person’s innermost desires. They are listening and reaching us in whatever media possible in a language more relevant for each and everyone of us than ever.

Algorithms and AI are helping brands take personalization to levels beyond the imaginable, but branding has historically been more about consistency than flexibility.

Variable Brand Voice is the typographic manifestation of the inevitable shift towards flexibility and mass personalization. By means of variable fonts, parametric and programmatic design, brands are leveraging tools to make communications a true one-to-one experience.

In this hands-on workshop, Rodrigo will share more than 15 years of knowledge, and students will work through a briefing and create a variable brand voice for their favorite band or artist.

Adobe Illustrator and/or type design software such as Glyphs (preferred) or similar is required.

Rodrigo Saiani

Rodrigo Saiani’s purpose is to make type a subject as pop in the world as music. As the founder of Plau, he’s made type Samba through creative and parametric typography for the biggest show on Earth, Rio Carnaval. Plau has built the largest community of type lovers in Brazil and leverages typography in brand communication working with clients ranging from ONGs to world-wide loved brands.
