Country and Community Delegate Report Guidelines

How to write a Delegate Report

Welcome to all Country and Community Delegates (which we like to call CCDs). The primary job of a CCD is to provide a yearly report into typographic activities in their region, as a way of generating a historical record of global typographic activity for the benefit of current and future practitioners and researchers. Reports are usually due two weeks prior to ATypI’s annual conference. A secondary aim of the CCD program is to build typographic communities. This guide is here to assist you in compiling your report on typographic activities in your region.

Many CCDs tell us that the task seems overwehelming, or that they don’t know where to start. To assist, you will find a list of headings below which are designed as prompts to get you started. Of course, not all of the prompts will apply in every region – they are simply suggestions. All you need to do is gather the information and collate it into a report once per year. ATypI provides all delegates with an online Google document where we recommend you store the information as it comes in, so the task doesn’t seem so daunting at submission time.

It is a good idea to reach out to your local networks via email or social media to ask for news and recommendations. This helps you to expand your networks and assists in community building, while increasing the reach of your report.

At the bottom of this page you will find a contact form, so please feel free to send us any questions or suggestions. After all, the CCD program is all about communities!
