Becoming an ATypI Delegate is a fantastic way to get involved with ATypI. ATypI Delegates are part of an international group of people who love type and work in typography and related fields. They are dedicated volunteers who wish to contribute in a meaningful way, and an important part of our tradition of supporting and elevating our field.
As an ATypI Delegate, you may represent a country or a region, or you may represent a community or group which is not defined by geography. Your primary task is to submit an ATypI Delegate Report once a year. The report, which records activities related to typography within your country or community, is then published by ATypI as a historical record as well as a way of bringing attention to your group’s activities and achievements.

ATypI Delegates’ community
The international type community is rich and diverse; part of ATypI’s mission is to uplift designers from underrepresented communities. ATypI Delegates represent type folks where they live and work, discovering new talent while supporting longtime practitioners. ATypI Delegates also produce reports on the state of type and typography in their locations and cultures, and facilitate communication and action with other ATypI members.

Annual Reports
At ATypI 2025 Copenhagen ATypI’s Internationalization Working Group published the ATypI Delegate Reports from 2021 to 2024. The PDF booklet contains reports for Australia, Canada, Japan, Lithuania, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.
The primary job of an ATypI Delegate is to provide a yearly report into typographic activities in their region. We provide a Google Docs template to get Delegates started.
We publish the Annual Reports as PDFs. The following past Delegate Reports are available for download: 1998 | 1999 | 2000–2001 | 2002 | 2003 | 2004 | 2005 | 2006 | 2007 | 2008–2009 | 2009–2012 | 2021–2024
ATypI Internationalization Working Group
ATypI’s Internationalization Working Group is a collaborative group composed of ATypI board members, representatives from ATypI’s membership and operational team members. Our goal is to expand ATypI’s global typographic community and create a platform for our members to make connections worldwide through our ATypI Delegate Program. We meet weekly to discuss issues, organize gatherings, and support our delegates. The team is led by the board members Leonardo Vázquez, supported by Nada Abdallah, David Lemon, and 刘钊 ZhaoLIU.
