You’re invited to celebrate all things in typographic—ATypI Paris 2023: Rendez-vous. Our first hybrid conference will take place in one of the most beautiful, creative, and inspiring cities in the world.

Join us in this magnifique metropolis as we celebrate being together once more, learning, sharing, laughing, and exploring all that the Parisian design scene has to offer.

Whether you attend our in-person activities or participate remotely, you’ll meet friends old and new from all over the world. This will be our sixty-sixth annual conference of the non-profit Association Typographique Internationale. Early Bird ticket deadline extended for ATypI Paris

We have extended the deadline to purchase Early Bird tickets for our ATypI Paris in-person conference. ATypI members receive an exceptional discount, with non-members also receiving an excellent sale. Students and recent grads receive extended discount eligibility for the pandemic years. Now attendees have more time to get these discounts—Early Bird registration is available through May 9.

These tickets cover admission to the General Session/Main Program and included events at the in-person conference in Paris, May 9–14, 2023. Optional tours, workshops, and other add-ons may be purchased separately. In-person ticket holders will also receive access to the remote component of ATypI Paris, our first hybrid event.

To register for your ATypI Paris experience:

Early Bird Member: Make sure that you’re a current paid-up ATypI member and that you’re logged in. If your paid ATypI membership has lapsed, join or renew before purchasing your conference ticket.

Early Bird Non-member: Follow the registration instructions. If you wish to become an ATypI member, please do so before you buy your Paris ticket—discounts are not retroactive.

Early Bird Student: We are extending student discounts to those who are currently enrolled full-time in accredited educational institutions, as well as those who were full-time students or who graduated during the pandemic (from February 2020 through the current academic year). You do not need to be an ATypI member to purchase a Paris student ticket. If you’d like to join, you can do that at any time.

Those registering as speakers, sponsors, partners, volunteers, and vendors receive instructions from the ATypI team.

ATypI Paris program overview

ATypI Paris 2023 is an event devoted to everything imaginable related to type design and typography. The conference will feature an exciting program of presentations, panel discussions, roundtables, workshops, tours, demos, exhibitions, type walks, discussions, and opportunities for networking and socializing.

Primary venue: Sorbonne Pierre et Marie Curie/Campus Jussieu, 5th arr., Latin Quarter.

Conference week: Tuesday–Sunday, May 9–14, 2023

Workshops, tours, and other optional small-group activities: Tuesday, Wednesday, Sunday

Check-in/registration and opening night: Wednesday afternoon/evening, May 10, 2023

Core program/general session: Thursday–Saturday, May 11–13, 2023

Hours: The conference program will run from approximately 8:00 am to 7:00 pm Central European Summer Time/CEST (Paris local time). Additional events may be held in the evening hours on certain days. Those submitting proposals must commit in advance to appearing onstage in person in Paris or being available remotely during the conference hours, Paris local time.

This event will be presented in person as long as health/governmental restrictions permit.

The primary language of the conference is English, but accepted speakers are welcome and encouraged to present in their native language(s) or another language of preference.

Confirmed speakers and workshop leaders attending the in-person conference will pay a reduced admission fee of $250. One speaker discount is available per session. No compensation is offered to speakers for this event. Accepted speakers may request a partial or full waiver of the discounted speaker fee. Waivers are granted based on availability of funding and participant need.
