ATypI has always been a hub for the type business. 20 years ago, the large type foundries who made up the bulk of the industry met and did deals at the annual conference. Today, the many small foundries, individuals and publishing/marketing businesses who make up the type-creation industry still use conferences as places to meet and do business, as well as chatting on the members-only email lists.

ATypI's Business and Legal Committee meets regularly to discuss the needs of the industry as they evolve and to find ways in which it can raise its profile.

ATypI also runs an arbitration service to help resolve disputes which may arise between members. Details of the service may be found in the members' area of this site.
